Luis Tibocha

Instructor

Luis Miguel Tibocha. Teacher, Dancer, Choreographer. Started his artistic career at a young age in Miluzka Dance Company Colombia. Under the teaching of his parents, he studied several dance styles such as Ballet,Jazz, Contemporary, Ballroom, Latin Dances, Folklore among others. He continued his professional development in the USA and was awarded the International Summer Dance Program Full scholarship at Point Park University in Pittsburgh PA from 2008 to 2012. Following his studies, he was invited to be a company member at West Palm Beach Ballet, and Mosaic Dance Project Miami.

On his return to Colombia, he started competing in several dance events at national and international level, being awarded as the best male professional dancer of All Dance International Orlando FL, for three consecutive years. This award positioned him as a reference of Colombian dance in the world. Then he received an invitation to be a part of the judging panel of ADI, EOT, and other competitions, and conventions, placing his name next to top level artists.

As a consequence, Luis was given public national recognition as an exceptional citizen in the artistic area, from the Mayor of the City and the State Governor. Following his public appearance he was invited by the Colombian embassy in Canada to share his knowledge with the Colombian community in Ottawa and Gatineau with latin rhythms and folklore.

Luis, AKA Tibocha, recently moved to Houston, Tx. To teach and keep his artistic career growing. He is a coffee lover, his classes shine thanks to his good mood, teaching methodology and his feeling with students. He is still an active dancer and director in his own company in Colombia. His classes are known for their strength, expression and versatility. Graduated from Business Management, at University of Medellin, Tibocha mixes his artistic talent with theoretical and office knowledge to take the spectacle industry to the next level. He also participated in different TV shows such as “La Pista” and “Desafío” In both representing dancers and fitness culture. His mottos are: “Helping people through dance” and “Human beings before artists”
